Sypnosis: The episode begins with the aftermath of the Requiem cannon. Dullindal orders ZAFT to take care of the remains and arrests some EAF officers. The crew of the Minerva seems to be exhausted and asleep, with the exception of Rey. Dullindal recalls that Jibril was defeated by Rey. Dullindal seems to rest assured once again. Rey and Shinn are up for some shooting. Rey's targets become more and more accurate than Shinn's. Lunamaria stares from the observation area and Shinn notices her. He takes off the earmuffs and goes to her as she begins to leave.
Shinn tells Luna that Rey made him get up for some early shooting. Luna begins to walk away when Shinn tugs on her arm. Luna seems to be still troubled by Meyrin and Athrun. She notices Rey exiting from the shooting area. Luna leaves quickly and it surprises Shinn.
The Archangel docks at Copernicus city and lands next to what seems to be an Izumo-class ship. Kira is in his quarters with Athrun and he questions about the pilot of the Impulse, Shinn. Athrun tells him he is also the pilot of Destiny. Kira seems a little down, but lets off a smile. Lacus and Meyrin begins talking to each other in the Archangel hallway. Athrun repents something about Shinn.
Meer is seen in a luxury spot in Copernicus. She begins singing "In the Quiet Night" but Lacus' version. She walks over to a bench and sits down. Her escort is viewing her through a surveillance video. Meer remembers Lacus' speech and an image of her old self in a recording studio. She shakes her head rapidly. She remembers Dullindal's words as he escorts her away. She crosses her arms and shudders. She is reminded of several scenes such as her speech, concert, and escape with Athrun. She attempts to shake it off. Suddenly the escort appears infront of her.
She begins pouring Meer some tea and Meer asks about Dullindal. The escort begins talking to her about the Archangel's arrival at Copernicus. She tells Meer the plan to assassinate that Lacus and calls Meer Lacus-sama. Meer is taken back with shock. The escrot has a devious look on her face. Meer grabs her head with her eyes widened in shock.
Athrun is seen loading a gun and hides it under his coat. He goes outside to meet Kira. they meet up wtih Lacus and Meyrin meeting up by the elevator. Kira says to Murrue that they will be fine. Neo questions Murrue if it'll be alright. Murrue says they'll be fine. Suddenly Neo warps his arm arounds Murrue's waist. Murrue attempts to escape but Neo doesn't let her. The view zooms off to Lacus and co. in their car (with Kira drivingon the right side of the car!- correction by Liyana Yasmin). A set of binocular like eyes stare in the distance at the semi-hidden Lacus Clyne.
Meer is seen staring at her own reflection in a window while Dullindal moves again on his chestboard. There is a scene of a mall where Meyrin and Lacus are crowding over a store. Kira and Athrun stare at the background. Kira asks Athrun about him and Lacus. Athrun says he's got to be kidding about him and Lacus. Lacus turns around and says she heard someone say her name. Athrun says it was nothing. Kira says that he will protect them both. Lacus decides to try on some new clothes and asks Kira his opinion. Kira says it's great. Lacus tries on another outfit and Kira gives the same response. Lacus gets angry that Kira is giving her the same answer. Meyrin laughs at this.
Suddenly Athrun notices someone spying on them off at a corner. A red Haro appears with a message on it's mouth. It jumps onto Lacus' hand as she reads the note. It is written in english and is addressed to "Ms. Lacus". The note says:"Help!!I'm going to be killed[ Map with arrow pointing towards it ] Ms. Lacus ! MEER "
Athrun quickly explains that Dullindal's Lacus Clyne is named Meer Campbell. He tells Kira to protect Lacus as he'll go save her on his own. Lacus disagrees and insists on coming with him. Athrun calls her an idiot but she interrupts. He turns to Kira who reluctantly agrees with Lacus. Athrun grabs his head in agony.
Meer is seen sitting alone in a stadium. Athrun stares from behind a wall until the red haro runs towards Meer. Meer notices Athrun behind the wall [Note: Up till this point Meer believes Athrun is still dead]. Meer begins to run towards him. Up near a window, the escort is seen with a sniper rifle. She calls Meer an idiot as she runs to find a new sniping spot. As Meer gets close to Athrun, Athrun points his gun at her. He knows this is a trap. Lacus and co. also appear with guns in their hands (funny poses too!). Meer stares at Lacus in shock.
Lacus says good afternoon to Meer. Meer backs off with more of her memories running on her mind. She insists that she is Lacus. Athrun approaches Meer and tells her to come to him. Meer backs away and points her gun at Athrun. Athrun fires his gun, which knocks Meer's gun out of her hand. Meer holds her hand in pain. Lacus talks with Meer and brings Meer to her knees. The escort is seen with the sniper gun, trying to aim at Lacus who is behind Athurn. Suddenly Torii flies by and Athrun notices the sniper. He gets Lacus out of the way, right before the sniper gun hit. He takes Lacus to Kira as he runs to grab Meer.
More gunners come out as they begin firing at the couples behind the wall. Athrun asks Meer what's going on with them. Meer says she has no idea. Athrun tells Kira and co. to take care of Meer as he runs out to shoot at the gunners. He manages to shoot two down and hits one of the arms of the escort. Lacus crawls over next to Meer and tells her it's alright. A gunner throws a gernade at Kira and co. but they manage to run away in time. Meanwhile the escort runs and throws another grenade at Kira and co. Kira manages to deflect the grenade with a bullet and it explodes on the escort instead. Lacus is sprawl over Meer, trying to protect her.
Neo suddenly arrives with the Akatsuki and notices gunfire. Athrun manages to finish off the last gunner and meets up with the group. Kira asks Mwu to take Lacus back quickly. Neo gets slightly annoyed at being called Mwu and lets the Akatsuki hand down telling the hime to get on. Suddenly the escort manages to get up and points the gun at Lacus. As Lacus boards the hand, Kira extends his hand to Meer, with his back turned to Lacus. Meer notices the escort preparing to fire at Lacus. She jumps towards Lacus and a gun shot is heard. Athrun, Meyrin and Kira, stare with their eyes widened. Meer turns around 2 times and falls to the ground, with a fatal bullet wound. Lacus holds Meer in her arms. Kira and Athrun jump up infront of them and fire at the escort, killing her.
Meer lays dying in Lacus' arms as she reaches in her purse to show Lacus a photo of herself before she was made to look like her. Athrun goes up to Meer. Kira tells Mwu to quickly get her to the Archangel. Meer closes her eyes. Athrun yells and remembers the first time she met Meer in the hotel, to the time she woke up besides him, and finally to the time he asked her to escape. Meyrin covers her mouth as she cried. Kira and Neo looks blankly. Athrun begins to cry hard. Tears stream down Lacus as Meer died in her arms.
Review: This episode is somewhat boring at the beginning and at the end. I liked the shooting scene at the end. Woot!! But sad endings always happened once in a while.
