Sypnosis: ZAFT begins to regroup their attack against the Requiem cannon. Logos unleashes many battleships to intervene the ZAFT incoming Nazca classes. Yzak and Dearka swear for sure that it will never fire again at PLANT. (Note: The OP now displays the Akatsuki with Neo's picture).
At the Archangel Kira aids Athrun with some programing work. Meyrin seems surprised at Kira's typing speed. Athrun still feels conflicted between the chairman's words and his true intentions. Meanwhile, the Minerva begins circling the moon and beginning their assault to the Requiem cannon. Talia has a meeting with the 3 Minerva pilots and discuss their strategy. We also see a brief glimpse of what appears to be Talia's child.
ZAFT continues their assault on the Requiem cannon, but it's positron deflector easily repels the beam attacks. We see a glimpse of the ZAKU contest winner, in a Black and Red scheme. Yzak and Dearka prepare to launch in the Black ZAKU Phantom and White GOUF Ignited. On the pilot longue, Rey gives Luna a lecture on how not to fail again. Shinn tries to defend Lunamaria, but Lunamaria says that she knows. Dearka fires at a Zamah-Zuh only to have his beams blocked by the deflector. Yzak closes in and whips his Heat Rod, destroying the deflector. Dearka flies past it and slashes it with his Beam Axe. Yzak flies past the other direction and slashes it with his Beam Sword, causing it to explode. Jibril gets irritated.
Rey leaves the two as he prepares to launch. Luna walks up to Shinn and stares back at Rey. Rey closes the hatch door. Luna tells Shinn to be careful out there. Shinn replies that Luna should be too. Luna goes up and hugs Shinn. Shinn goes up and hugs Luna, as they both drift in each other's arms. The Minerva nears the assault point as Luna goes down the elevator to launch. Shinn tells Luna that he will protect her and PLANT no matter what. Lunamaria is a bit taken back.
Lunamaria launches independantly on Blast Impulse as Minerva continues towards the cannon. The control center on Requiem has detected the Minerva, and Jibril is not pleased. All forces begin launching as we see several Windams, Zamah-Zuh and Gerzuh-Gehs launch. The Minerva prepares it's cannons and launches Legend and Destiny. Shinn begins shooting down some Windams as Rey encounters a Zamah-Zuh. Rey shows off his DRAGOON's debut as well as two Beam Cutters on 2 DRAGOONs. The regular beams begin to be deflected by the Positron Deflector, but the Beam Cutters cut through the Deflector and destroys the Zamah-Zuh. Rey's DRAGOON continues to destroy Windams with ease. Shinn unleashes his beam cannon and destroys another Windam. The Minerva's CIWS and Isolde furiously fire. We get a brief glimpse of Meer and Miss Connile.
Logos begins launching it's Destroy units. Rey signals Shinn, but Shinn already knows what he wants. The Minerva unleashes it's Tanhausser and fires at the Moon base. A Gerzuh-Geh deflects the blast as the shockwave manages to blow the Minerva back. Shinn dodges the Destroy beams easily as he closes in and jabs his hand into one of it's cockpits and unleash the Beam Palm attack. He quickly retracts his arm as the unit explodes with an unknown pilot. Rey begins his attack on another Destroy slicing it twice with his Beam Javelin. He then unleashes his Beam Cutter DRAGOONs, which easily rips through the Positron Deflector and goes straight through the Destroy, causing it to explode.
Meanwhile at the farside of the base, Luna appears in Blast Impulse as she shoots down a Windam. Shinn decides to fly to Luna, sensing her in danger. Yzak manages to down a EA ship with his GOUF's beam fingers. The Nazca classes begin converging fire. Many Windams and a Gerzuh-Geh start firing at Luna, as she tries desperately to block and dodge. Shinn unleashes his Beam Boomerang as he destroys 2 Windams. He uses his Anti-Ship Sword and slices apart the Gerzuh-Geh. Luna is relieved to see Shinn to her aid. Rey blocks endless hits with his Beam Shield and jabs a Battleship from above with his Javelin. Blast Impulse dodges a Zamah-Zuh's attack and Shinn impails it with his Anti-Ship Sword. Luna flies inside the base, trying to destroy the Control Center. Rey orders Shinn not to follow her.
Shinn flies into a hanger. Jibril is seen boarding the Girty Lue. Luna manages to find the insides of the Requiem cannon and begins firing, killing the people manning the control center. Shin fires at several EA battleships, destroying them. The Girty Lue immediately launches, but is caught by Rey. Jibril is in total shock. Rey unleashes the Beam Cutters again, and it goes straight through the bridge, killing Jibril. We see Dullindal's face light up with a smirk. Rey's DRAGOONS fire and destroy the Girty Lue ship. The Minerva crew looks surprised while Dullindal says thanks to Jibril.
The focus is back on Earth, with Kira having a pep talk with Athrun again. They look onward to the moon in the night sky. We see a brief scene of Luna exiting the Impulse with the mechanics congratulating her. Shinn runs up and Luna hugs him in her arms. Vino looks extremely surprised in the background (quite the hilarious sight). Athrun is reminded of the Extended Trio and Shinn. The next day, Cagalli begins a speech to ORB asking them to please assist the Archangel. Athrun notices Cagalli's hand with the ring off. Everyone gives a big salute. Cagalli goes to Neo and tells him he is the pilot of the Akatsuki now. Neo acknowledges.
Lacus and Kira goes up to Athrun as Cagalli is leaving. Athrun only replies with a smile. Kira and Lacus seems to understand. While walking in a corridor, Cagalli meets up with Meyrin in her ZAFT Uniform (and pigtails!). Cagalli turns and walks with tears in her eyes. The Archangel begins launch as it soars into the sky. Cagalli stares from the dock with Kisaka back at ORB.
