Sypnosis: The episode again starts with a brief recap of the end of Phase 44. Meer is somewhat stunned and out of it after seeing Lacus. As Lacus discusses about herself and about Chairman Dullindal, Meer attempts to cut in many times, but Lacus doesn't let her. Dullindal furiously orders them to cut Meer's broadcast off. Much of ZAFT seems surprised and Djibril seems delighted. Meer drops to the floor zooned out. Afterwards we see a brief scene of Ms. Connil (way back from the Phase 20s). She insists that they must stop Logos and go with ZAFT.
Meer goes to find Dullindal and apologizes. Dullindal says theres nothing for her to apologize for and reassures her. She sends her off in a shuttle with an escort. Dullindal enters a seperate shuttle. On board the Minerva, Shinn questions Rey about the Lacus at ORB. Rey answers angrily and we see several flashbacks of Rau. They go and sit down at the lounge, when Shinn flashes back to Phase 43 and his fight with Justice. He suddenly grabs his head in agony. Lunamaria asks him what's wrong. Rey replies it was because of Freedom and Athrun Zala.
Lunamaria is shocked. Rey says that he is with the Archangel now. Lunamaria asks about Meyrin. Rey answers that yes she should be alive. Lunamaria stares at Shinn, Shinn looks away with guilt.
In space, the Requiem colony laser houses Djibril. We see the commencing of the Requiem. Meanwhile outside, several Nazca class ships launch out their units. Among them include Dearka's Custom Blaze Zaku Phantom (Black paint-scheme) and Yzak's Custom GOUF (White paint-scheme). The Earth Alliance (and what appears to be a Girty Lue) launches their Windam and Euclid units. The dogfight commences as Dearka and Yzak easily rip through the fodders.
Yzak begins the attack on the colony laser with the combine might of Dearka's Zaku and the Heine-team Zaku Warriors. The damage to the colony laser is minimal. Djibril reaches over to pull a trigger. He clicks on it a few times and the red light becomes blue. He hits the button behind and the colony laser begins to fire. It's giant Green and Yellow beam fires from the main cannon and hits an empty cylinder. This deflects the beam at an angle and yet again hits another cylinder. After the third cylinder the beam heads towards Yzak and co. Yzak orders everyone to evade.
The beam shoots through the opening and hits one of the PLANTs. It continues to cut across several more PLANTs and we see the ground starting to split apart. Violent winds occur as the air starts to leak out of the PLANTs. People, trees, cars are all flung about and pulled into space. Dullindal stares in amazement. He suddenly pretends to become angry, alarming a ZAFT Council Member. Djibril is angry that the colony laser was unable to bring down Aprilius. Dearka remarks that December City was destroyed. Yzak gets angry.
Meanwhile back on Earth, there is chaos all around. Both the Minerva and Archangel hear of the news and are terrified. On the Minerva Rey explains that this is the work of Logos. In space, Yzak and Dearka tear through several EA Battleships with little remorse. The Nazca classes combine their fire and target the colony. Many beams and missiles scorch the surface. Meanwhile, the Zaku Warriors with the Gunner pack target the colony laser as well. They were able to take out the outer shell of the cylinder.
Back on the Minerva, Rey shows Lunamaria and Shinn how the Requiem is able to use these cylinders to form geometrical shapes and hit several key locations such as a part of PLANT (as just seen) or the Earth. But most deadly of all the ability to hit the Earth and the other PLANTs at the same time. The Minerva prepares a booster back to it's engines to enable them to fly into space. Talia commences the launch as they escape the atmosphere.
On the Archangel, they discuss the situation. Athrun remarks how this colony laser is like GENESIS. One by one, they volunteer to fight this evil. Cagalli first, then Mwu as he looks at Murrue, Meyrin also jumps in and Kira turns to Athrun. Athrun holds out his hand and Kira places his in Athruns. Meanwhile, Dullindal sits with his eyes closed and a smirk on his face.
Review: Requiem pwnz0rz teh plantz0Rz. Lots of ZAFT angst as they lost those 3 PLANTs. Hope Dullindal enjoys his little castle. Meer is alive wheee pwnz!
