Sypnosis: The episode starts off with a mixture of Phase 40 and some new scenes. While Cagalli and the Murasames defend ORB, it seems that the Archangel is finally able to launch. They launch underwater style similar to Phase 14. Also Athrun makes his way in an ORB Uniform to the bridge of the Archangel, with Meyrin supporting his walking. Neo Lornnoke is seen with Murrue and some MPs and his hands were unbound. The Skygrasper is offered as his vehicle to escape the battle. Murrue says that he is not Mwu and turns her back on him running off.
Meyrin insists that it was alright staying on the Archangel with Athrun and Murrue acknowledges. Shin launches in his Destiny and meets up with the Akatsuki (as seen at the end of Phase 40). Athrun and Meyrin are working on the control room with Amagi.
Talia is briefed by a ZAFT commander on the attack. Shin continues to battle the Akatsuki blocking it's beams with his beam shield or dodging. Shin switches to his beam cannon and blasts the Akatsuki's torso. The Akatsuki redirects the beam at Shin as he dodges the reflected blast. Amazed at this feat, Shin fires again at the head with his beam rifle. The beam also deflects off. Angered, he takes out his Anti-Ship Sword and activates his beam wings, creating after images and greatly boosting his speed, concerning Cagalli.
Suddenly several Murasames come in Cagalli's aid. Their attacks were easily dodged by Shin and, one by one, goes down by his Anti-Ship Sword. Angered by the loss of her ORB soldiers, Cagalli unleashes her Double-Sided Beam Saber and attacks Shin. Shin blocks the hit with his Anti-Beam Sword. On the Archangel, they gain visual on the battle of ORB. The Minerva also spots the incoming Archangel. Visuals of the battle between the Akatsuki and Destiny are broadcasted on the Archangel. Athrun gets surprised by the sight of Destiny. Destiny slices the Akatsuki's shield apart and throws his Beam Boomerang, severing the Akatsuki's left arm. At the same time, Shin unleashes his second Beam Boomerang, right when the first is about to come back, putting Cagalli in a pincer. Athrun gets extremely emotional and screams out "Cagalli!".
Suddenly on the Minerva sensors, they detect an unknown object rapidly descending. The Minerva officer reports to Talia that it is way too fast. In the atmosphere we see Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice burning red from rentry. Strike Freedom, piloted by Kira, lets go of Infinite Justice as he thrusts himself into battle. He unleashes his Rail Cannons and fires, destroying both of Shin's Beam Boomerangs, but knocks Cagalli aside. Kira quickly switches to his Beam Saber and attempts to slash Destiny, only to have him dodge. Both the Minerva crew and the Archangel crew are surprised with Freedom appearing again.
Shin flashes back to Freedom's demise and is in disbelief at seeing this new Freedom. Even Athrun is surprised on the Archangel. However, Rey remains calm. Cagalli asks Strike Freedom if it was Kira who piloted, Kira acknowledges and asks Murrue to take care of Lacus (who is piloting the Infinite Justice, with a Pink-ZAFT-Type Pilot Suit). Kira engages the Destiny with his two beam sabers, as Destiny takes out his Anti-Ship Sword and powers up his Wings. The two titans clash, as huge waves of energy emerge from their exchange of blows.
The Infinite Justice manages to dock with the Archangel and Athrun quickly rushes down to see. Meanwhile, the Minerva prepares battle with the Archangel, as they both release their weapons. Both ships exchange hits, yet neither seems to score significant damage. Strike Freedom unleashes his double beam rifles, and combine for the powerful beam cannon. Shin attempts to block the hit with his beam shield, but the power of the blast knocks him back. Shin takes out his Beam Cannon again and fires at Freedom. Kira returns the favour by firing his chest cannon, nullifying the blast. Rey, again, stares calmly.
The scene shifts again to the grunt battles, were ORB seems to be losing. The one armed Akatsuki evens the battle by shooting down a GOUF. Kisaka in Waltfeld's custom Murasame and other Murasames follow Cagalli to retake the HQ. Meanwhile, we see a ZAFT drop in process. The package reveals three DOMs. Both sides (ZAFT and ORB) are surprised by the drop, both unaware of a ZAFT Drop. The DOMs activate to reveal their 3 pilots. They begin hover on the ground at highspeeds, taking down ZAFT quickly. The Archangel is surprised by these new units, but Lacus explains that they are allies.
The DOM pilots hail Lacus-sama, and activate their beam shields, charging in. Finally the lead DOM unit commands them to move in. The three shout out "Jet Stream Attack!" while red dust seems to emit from the led DOM. They quickly run over several GOUFs and ZAKUs, while the back DOM fires. Meanwhile, Athrun finally reaches Lacus, and the docked Infinite Justice. Lacus asks Athrun if he was alright. Athrun confirms, but Lacus says it's not about his injuries, it's about fighting against ZAFT. Athrun has a flash back of Meer and looks at Lacus.
The Archangel and Minerva are at a stand still. Kira continues his fight with Shin, dodging a strike from his Anti-Ship Sword. Kira enters Seed mode and throws his two beam rifles into the air. He activates the two Beam Shields on his arm and charges towards Destiny. Destiny slices down with his beam sword, as Kira catches the sword with his hand. He activates his Rail Cannons and blasts Shin off, managing to keep the sword with him. He throws the sword away. Shin gets angry and said that Freedom was taunting him, since if it was a beam he would have died. Freedom catches the two beam rifles he threw up earlier and strikes a pose. Shin angry at this, enters Seed mode. He takes out his rifle and activates his Wings again. The two begin exchanging fire.
Rey messages Talia and asks to bring Shin back. Meanwhile at ORB, an underground GooHN breaks through and kills several ORB officials (Unato is among one of them) and the falling debris kills a bunch of women and children (Yuna's Mother is among them as well). Meanwhile Jibril continues running on an underground path. The GooHN surfaces and destroys an Astray. An angered Cagalli drops down with the Akatsuki's saber, destroying it. Cagalli lands and exits the Akatsuki, running into the ORB HQ. Kisaka and the other Murasames are behind her.
Shin continues blasting Kira, but gets stopped by Rey's message. Shin is ordered to return, but Shin refuses. Rey warns him that his energy level is low. Shin is forced to break from his fight with Kira. Kira flies back towards ORB. Cagalli finally reaches Yuna, who is tied up and ruffed. Cagalli throws another punch on his face. On the Archangel, Lacus continues to persuade Athrun. Cagalli attempts to force an answer out of Yuna, on the whereabouts of Jibril. Yuna says he doesn't know and Cagalli throws him down, telling them to take him away.
Kira continues protecting ORB by shooting down several ZAFT Grunts in his HiMAT Mode. His dual beam sabers take down several Babis. Lacus explains to Athrun that it was Kira's will to fight alongside Athrun once again. Athrun is still unsure. The battle of the Archangel and Minerva continues when the Minerva shoots a barrage of missiles. The Archangel manges to shoot all but 2 of them down. Suddenly, a laser shoots the two missiles down. The Archangel is surprised to see the Skygrasper, piloted by Neo, returning.
The resupplying of Destiny is complete, and Shin rushes off to launch. Rey is also launching in his Legend unit. Kira detects them and is very surprised. Meanwhile Athrun has finally decided that he will fight with Kira. Lacus returns a smile to him. Athrun starts up Justice as the Archangel opens the hatch, with that he launches the Justice and flies into the chaotic battle between Kira against Rey and Shin.
Review: As expected, Kira pulled some moves to pwn Destiny. But how will he fare with Legend backing him up? Hurry up, Fat-Justice. Not as good as 39, so I gave 6.5/5 :)
