Sypnosis: Not much to summarize, since this was a recap episode. This episode was broken down into two portions, the first is narrated by Athrun Zala, and the second half by Kira Yamato. I will briefly summarize the events in both.
Athrun's recap takes place while he is hospitalized at the Archangel infirmary. He begins to thinks back to the events at the begining of Destiny, how he was persuaded to rejoin ZAFT by the likes of Yzak, Meer, and Dullindal. He just wanted to use his power to prevent war and to protect. Therefore, he re-enlisted in ZAFT, special FAITH division and pilot of the Saviour Gundam. However, during one of the battles, his long time childhood friend, Kira Yamato of the Freedom intervened. He couldn't understand why Kira would do something so foolish and tells him many times his power only leads to confusion.
When the two finally meet up, Kira's words begin to worry Athrun about Dullindal. Although Athrun still trusts Dullindal, Kira's words still lingered with him, and Dullindal sensed this. Finally, Athrun thinks not to defect from ZAFT, but to cease being Dullindal's tool of war. He takes off with Meyrin in a GOUF but is shot down by Shin's Destiny, while till the last minute, trying to persuade his new friend the truth behind Dullindal.
After comes Kira's portion. Kira begins his story from Lacus' attempted assassination. Because of force consequences, Kira was forced to re-enter Freedom to protect Lacus. However doing so led him back into conflict with Athrun once again. Although he doesn't know what to do, he knows he must do something. He doubts Dullindal's intentions, and his doubts are confirmed when Dullindal attacks the Archangel. In the battle where he lost the Freedom Gundam to Shin's Impulse.
After they recovered Athrun, they learn of Lacus being in danger again. Kira launches in his sister's Strike Rouge unit and an attached Strike Booster that will allow him to escape the Earth's Atmosphere and fight in space. He arrives just in time to save Lacus, but even Kira could do little in an outdated suit against ZAFT's new grunt units, the ZAKU and GOUFs. Kira is reminded of the horrors of the last war, especially the death of Fllay and the battle with Rau's Providence.
Kira recalls Uzumi's words. The world will only be thrown into endless battle if people do not recognize each other. Both Kira and Athrun tried to find the path where people could understand each other, and no fighting was neccesary. The scene swithes to the revealing of Strike Freedom. He tells Athrun, even though all they can do is useless fighting, Lacus and Cagalli are stil trying their best, and they cannot have anyone that would sabotage their efforts. They are awaiting the day that everyone can be happy with no fighting.
