Sypnosis: We have a slight recap of the fight between Kira and Shin. After the Minerva's Tanhausser manages to hit the Archangel and the large explosion, we see scenes of the Archangel's interior, with injured soldiers and a flood coming in. On the bridge, Neuman tries hard to steer the Archangel stable again. We see the head and chest of Freedom drifting in the Ocean current. Inside, Kira is seen pressing on the emergency Nuclear Reactor Cut Off, preventing a Nuclear explosion. Kira is seen unconcious in the cockpit, with water flooding in. Cagalli is rapidly approaching in her Strike Rouge unit.
Back on the surface, Shin's damaged Impulse unit returns to the Minerva. The Minerva is shocked at the events, especially Athrun who yells it was Impossible. As Strike Rouge grabs Kira, an explosion is heard in the water. Everyone is indisbelief. Several DINNs with a Sonar-type sensor is searching for the remains of the Archangel. They proved to be unsuccessful. Shin exits the cockpit of Impulse inside the Minerva. He is quick congradulated for his efforts and destruction of Freedom. Vino quickly runs up to hug him. Lunamaria and Rey also appears. Rey puts his hand out to Shin. Shin accepts the handshake.
Meanwhile Athrun stares at the distance. Shin notices him and approaches Athrun. Athrun begins to turn around and walk away. Shin says something to catch his attention. Rey has a memory of Kira destroying the Providence. Shin puts on a gleeful smile. Athrun gets angry and walks up to him, grabbing him by the collar. Shin's helmet falls to the ground. Vino and Luna hold on to them. Rey also steps up. After more argument, Athrun lays a punch to Shin, knocking him back. Luna and Vino holds Athrun down as Rey and Youlan holds Shin down. Rey tells Athrun to stop. Athrun replies that Kira is not the enemy. Rey replies he is an enemy. He reminds Athrun that he is in ZAFT. Athrun gets a memory when Lacus asked him the same question (SEED). Rey takes Shin and walks away. Athrun also turns away.
In Gibraltar, many GOUFs, Babi, and GuAIZ R units are seen. Meanwhile, somewhere in space, Yzak and Dearka are walking down a cooridor as they hear the conversation between some ZAFT captains. Yzak gets angry and scolds them before walking away. Dearka tries to calm his friend down. On Earth, many citizens are seen firing at LOGOS inhabbited buildings. Dullindal makes more announcements with more gruesome scenes of LOGOS' work. Many Alliance officers seem stress, including the Seylans in ORB. Jibril watches in his underground lair, as the LOGOS members begin complaining. Jibril immediately gets up and runs somewhere. He curses Dullindal as he runs.
Kira gets up in the infirmary of the Archangel. Miriallia and Cagalli walk in with his meal. Cagalli goes to his bed side and helps him sit up. Next to him is Neo Lornnoke, also enjoying his meal. Kira feels sad for the loss of Freedom that Lacus entrusted him with. Murrue also enters the room. Neo comments about the pilot of the Impulse. Neo also says something about Mwu La Flaga that catches everyone's attention. He asks if they are headed to ORB. Murrue replies they are.
On PLANT, Dullindal, Meer, and several Council members are heading down a launching station, preparing to go to Earth. Meer seems out of it the whole time. On the shuttle, Dullindal recaps the events in his mind, with Freedom and the Archangel out of the way, he's in a check mate position. But he is still worrying about the Queen piece, Lacus and the Eternal.
The Minerva reaches Gibraltar and gets a grand escort of many ZAFT Submarines. Rey, Luna, and Shin have a chat at the pilot lounge, saying about LOGOS. Shin remembers the lost of Stellar's life and his family, and gets angry as he crushes the can he had in his hand. Rey puts his hand on Shin's shoulder to reassure him. Dullindal makes a call to the Minerva, asking Shin Asuka and Athrun Zala to please go to him. Meer and Dullindal is seen in a dark room, awaiting their guest. Meer plays a bit with her Haro. Shin and Athrun are riding on a Jeep to the factory as they notice a GOUF on the way. Rey sits alone in his room, with his mind on something serious.
Meer looks up as Athrun and Shin enter. They proceed slowly to Dullindal, peering about in the room. Dullindal offers his handshake to Shin and he accepts it. He thanks Shin for his efforts. He also extends his hand to Athrun who is hesitant to shake his hand, but does it eventually. Meer runs up and jumps on Athrun, surprising him. Dullindal makes a brief speech before turning the lights on. Behind him are two newly craeted Gundams, the ZGMF-X42S Destiny, and the ZGMF-666S Legend. While Shin stares in amazement, Athrun stares angrily at Dullindal. Dullindal says that these two units were for them. Shin is in even more bliss and Athrun grows angrier. We end the episode with a close up on the Gundam's heads. The Destiny shows X-42S DUE on his head crystal.
